A Business Motivational Speaker Explains How To Boost Staff Motivation
Knowing how to keep your people motivated is a critical skill for managers in every industry, not just for business motivational speakers! Much research have been done in this matter and have shown a handful of practical but enormously helpful ideas for keeping people content and productive, even in problematic business times.
An extremely important item to bear in mind is that employees are not necessarily motivated by similar tools. Fact is, some people aren’t even motivated by professional business motivational speakers! So, don’t routinely think your workers will react to the identical motivators that work for you. As a supervisor of a team, it will work well for you listen to every one of the associates working for you and take note of what’s significant to them and what inspires them. The following action steps (which I was taught by an inspirational speaker) have been confirmed to be effective for lots of dissimilar sorts of people.
1. Employees Respond To Positive Energy
Here’s a business motivational speaker saying: “You’ll catch more flies with honey than vinegar.” Even the least motivated employee will start to respond to positive comments about the things they’re doing right. Looking only at the things they do right and commenting on those will help make them feel better about their input at work. A person can develop ‘a taste’ for compliments and positive feedback—one of your goals is to assist them want to be worthy of more.
2. Reaping Rewards
A very direct way to motivate people is by publicly acknowledging their first rate work. You can increase the impact of a compliment by giving it to the recipient in a way that their coworkers can hear. And the occasional small reward can do wonders for someone’s perspective on their job. And keep in mind this should be done as close to the ‘event’ as possible—it will magnify the effectiveness of your praise if you tell the person as soon as possible after the fact.
3. Make Training Investments
Supplementing the skills of your staff through training programs can be excellent. By paying for extra training, you’re communicating to your people that you appreciate them and are ready to invest in the improvement of their skill set. This sends heartening signals to staff and can really boost how they look at their job. And being presented with a paid occasion to get away from the routine workplace can recharge the batteries.
4. Laugh Together
Sometimes, especially in very trying economic times, laughter is the best medicine. Try implementing some inexpensive but fun things into the agenda. Many companies have tried ‘casual Friday’ or getting to go home a little early at the end of the week. Perhaps bringing in donuts once a week. Anything that makes people feel that they’re being treated respectfully and being appreciated. It’s part of human nature that a person will value someone who values them. Truth is, you won’t even need to book a business motivational speaker!
5 Ways On How You Can Motivate Yourself To Achieve Your Goals
Growing as a person requires us to adopt healthier habits, drop old ones and change ourselves to be more efficient, effective and healthy individuals. But old habits die hard, and new ones don’t stick so easily. Here are 5 tips on how you can keep yourself motivated while on your journey of personal growth.
1. Break-it-down!
Dreaming is okay… and it’s all right if you want to dream really, really big. But breaking down that huge goal into small and easy-to-achieve increments can actually help you get there in the long run. When you walk a long and unplanned route without rest stops, it is so much easier to deviate or consider giving into those voices in your head.
2. Reward yourself
It does not sound very constructive to celebrate even before you've reached your destination. But all these little steps are actually taking you there! So celebrate, even for the smallest of your victories. Set specific rewards for small and big achievements and make sure not to scrimp on your happiness and glee each time you meet one of them. You’ll find that enjoying these processes along the way boost your morale and determination to reach that final destination.
3. One at a time
It is crucial to remain focused. Many of us attempt major life overhauls in a week… and find ourselves sliding back into old habits in mere days! Major overhauls rarely ever work and often dilute your attention. So drop nonessential plans, and focus on the one that matters the most right now. Do what you have to do to make that change, and set a reasonable timeline to go along with it. This helps you create new habits effectively and lowers the chances of you sliding back into old ways.
4. Immerse yourself
Read up on it, listen to audios, watch videos, go for seminars, talk to your friends — immerse yourself in whatever you want to achieve. Not only does it help in keeping you focused for the end goal, it also educates you on your path, your mission and what you need to do to get you there. Most importantly, being able to relate to people with a similar journey provides you with a support system that will help keep you in check and motivate you when times get tough.
5. See it, to believe it.
Most of us are highly visual. Seeing it only in our minds, or in words on paper is often much less effective as motivators compared to actually seeing a visual of our goals. Get a cork board and place all your goals on them in picture form, or short reminder words that can help you stay on track. Place this board where you will see it, and see it often – whether it’s in your study, the wall across from your bed or at your workplace. Or even better, digitize it and make it your desktop wallpaper. Personal growth is so much more enjoyable and effective when you can actively envision your goals and their rewards on a daily basis without too much hassle.
Problem Hunting: How To Find Your Life’s Purpose In 1 Easy Step
How do you really uncover the secrets to finding your life’s purpose? Where do you look to find the clues to unlock your life’s assignment and unleash more meaning, fulfillment, happiness, and significance into your life? How do you live out your purpose effectively?
These are all important life question, and I realize that this is probably going to sound simply and you may have heard it many times before, but…
“Purpose Is ‘Why’ You Were Born – and you can often find it with the simple act of looking at the problems you were born to solve”
Let’s take a look at an example of the fan for a minute to understand this concept better—problem hunting for your life’s purpose.
A man by the name of Dr. Schuyler Wheeler created the two blade electric desktop fan — and long after he has died, you and I still enjoy the fruits of his ambition and are able to use a fan to help us solve one specific problem in our lives…that is cooling our homes, & ourselves.
It would have made no sense whatsoever for Wheeler to randomly take a few spare parts and throw them together to see what he could make. Instead, he created a blueprint that gave him a vision of the completed product, before he began.
In other words he was looking for a solution to a specific problem…
This brings us to the point of understanding that the purpose of anything is born in the mind of the creator and it literally becomes his particular solution to a specific problem that he wants to solve for himself and others.
We can safely conclude that the purpose of
a thing…”Can Be Found In The Problems It Solves”
Open your eyes and take a 360 degree view.
Do you realize that everything has a specific function? Everything is created to do something; created to solve a specific problem.
Cooling problems are solved by fans and air-conditioning units
Our stoves and furnaces solves our heating problems
Trains, ships, cars and planes – solve our transportation problems
Lawyers share their purpose by solving our legal problems
Medical problems are solved by doctors
Teachers solve ignorance problems
Everyone and everything created solves a specific problem, and within those uniqe life solutions that they/it offers, purpose is unleashed. This works so much in our favor
that we often go looking for problem solvers to reward them for helping us solve our
problems…the ones they are good at.
To truly discover your life’s purpose, begin by unlocking the clues that lie hidden within the problems you solve for others
Your life designed to be a solution to a specific problem on this planet that once you tap into, refine, and develop, will become a powerful tool that helps countless people solve their problems; this in turn will give your life fulfillment, meaning and a clear path of greatness to follow.
Take a moment and carefully consider these questions!
There are problems that you are good at solving for other – what are they?
What are those specific problems that you enjoy solving for others?
Think about the type of problems people ask you for help with?
There are tons of clues that lie hidden within these simple questions. This simple truth may escape you so often that you don’t even take into consideration that things you do for others that release a sense of meaning, satisfaction, and happiness into your own life; you might even offer to help others all day if necessary and would even
skip the financial rewards if you didn’t need the money.
So what’s my point exactly?
If you take a few minutes and really look at your life and the solution it offers to others, you will definitely find hidden clues to you purpose in
those solutions your life offers.
Self-Motivation Made Easy In 5 Steps
I’m a generally motivated person myself, but there are days when I feel less inclined to pursue my goals. What I’ve noticed is that when that one less-motivated-day begins, it tends to drag on a couple of days, sometimes weeks, affecting my personal growth. Here are 5 easy ways to motivate yourself and get back on your personal growth track!
1. Identify your motivators
Is it that swanky new house? That promotion or pay rise you are dying for? Sit down, and dream big. Make a list of everything you want to achieve. If you’re unable to come up with that list, don’t worry. Try this out. Sit down, close your eyes, and fully relax your body. Imagine what would truly make you happy. It does not have to be material or physical. It could be a smile on your parents’ face or spending more time with your partner. Visualize it, feel it, and write it down.
2. Keep it in sight
The problem with lists is that we often forget them.. and it's not very stimulating to read a list of words every day. So what you can do with that list is to make it easier for you to visualize your motivators. Want to save up for a vacation in Cancun? Get on Google and search for the most beautiful photo of the place you can find and tack it up on a wall or surface you see everyday. Do that for everything on your list. Whether it’s in the form of a number, a few quick words, or a photo — put it somewhere you can see, and see often. You'll find that it's more mentally stimulating than staring at your list every day.
3. Celebrate your achievements
Always remember to celebrate whenever you achieve your goals. It doesn’t matter if it was a small one, or a big one. Celebrating your achievements regardless of their size and impact leaves you with feel-good, positive feelings that positively reinforce yourself, making it easier for you to continue motivating yourself each time!
4. Hang with the "right" crowd
Your mom was right, she just wasn’t specific enough. Be selective of who you spend your time with. Time is gold. Spend it with like-minded individuals. If you’re looking for more motivation, hang out with motivated people. It’s infectious and soon, you will find yourself thinking like them too.Preferably, select friends who are not only internally motivated, but extremely positive and happy individuals. Take them out for lunch, have a chat, party with them, invite them over for drinks — you are who you hang out with.
5. Share the love
Lastly, motivate others. You’ll find that sharing motivation is extremely helpful as it can provide you with the inspiration to stay motivated. That, and verbalizing motivation others is a two-way route - you not only motivate others, but re-motivate yourself.
Flex those self-motivation muscles and put these tips to practice. You’ll find that once you get yourself surrounded with motivating factors, it’s more difficult to be derailed and your journey of personal growth becomes smoother!
People In Need Of Encouragement Words
As we live through life we sometimes come across situations that calls for some short encouragement quotes.I mean from time to time we are confronted with certain situations that require more than just experience and enthusiasm to make it. If you are not clear about when it is the right time to share some bible scripture for encouragement then why don’t you read below to find out more about this very important issue.
Losing someone you love
Losing someone you love is not easy and if you know someone who needs some encouragement words then do take the time to share something positive. They need to hear good things and positive talk. Be weary of overdoing it. You need to be sensitive enough to know when and how to say it.
Let me emphasize and say that when you are trying to encourage someone who is grieving, you need to be skilful and very sensitive.
Someone starting a new job
Starting a new job may be all well and good yes but it does have its fair share of aggravation and intimidation. So if you know someone who is just starting a new job then you have a candidate to help out. If the friend enjoys a good laugh, it is a good idea to send him or her some wonderful poems of encouragement about the first day at work.
Someone living in a foreign country
Being in a foreign country can be so stressful especially if you can not understand the local language. One of the predominant feelings are anxiety and being home sick. I know someone who fell into a serious depression a few days after arriving in a new country – to stay for 12 months. It took two months to get that person out of the “slump” .
Other people who need to be encouraged from time to time include, married couples, someone who is sick and probably in hospital and people locked up in prison. So while you are going about enjoying your life, do take sometime to say something good to someone who needs it.

Remote Working Part 3 – ‘Tools of the trade’
self management more….
Before I show you my collection of great Internet tools that will definitely help you to operate remotely, I wanted to write about one more item connected with self management and specifically to do with keeping your focus and powers of concentration
I’ve uncovered and established a consistent habit in men and women who work on the Internet and I’ve known for over a long time line and I call this habit the 50 minute rule. I spotted these colleagues who concentrate and work for 50 mins. and then take a whole ten mins. rest and are considerably more efficient and generate a significantly better quality of work than individuals who don’t have such distinct working methods.
OK as promised here is my list of favourite remote working tools:
Google Mail has a price tag of zero. For my money the search and label (categories) mechanisms have no equal. Googlemail can be a little slow on aging PC’s
Phone calls
Skype used to drive me crazy as the service quality and reliability was appalling, but three cheers for the software tech’s at Skype now as they have considerably refined the quality of the service. For meagre amount of money a month ! can call and conference in any phone and Skype user on the planet. The current version of Skype has an abundance of superb functions and there are now plenty of of practical add ons.
Organising Content
Evernote has acquired in excess of a million users in no time at all – it enables you to store, organise and annotate any type of digital content in the Cloud. Just go check it out…it’s free.
Invoicing, Time and Expenses capture, Accounting and CRM
You definitely know that my desire to work remotely was originally sparked off by Quickbooks Online, a small business accounting software system. But it is no match for the free edition of salesorder.com – a lead to cash system that’s as easy to use as a toaster I looked at NetSuite whose pricing (and people) scared me off. My choice here is salesorder.com – Go check it out.
Remote Working Part 2 – Why self discipline is important
The most cited reason members of both sexes fail to succeed at working remotely is they fail to see the essential requirement of first rate organisation and sustainable self discipline.
I have been toiling remotely for almost a decade since I first uncovered Quickbooks online an ‘on demand’ small business accounting software web application and was energised by the fact that if you can perform accounting on the web then why shouldn’t it be practical to do other important types of work away from the conventional office?
Whilst working remotely has numerous upsides there are numerous things that workers don’t realise which turn into problems that cause cuts in work output and reduced morale. The top reason for reductions in work output from remote professionals is disturbance and it is a proven and well known fact that it can take a person up to 20 mins to establish their original productivity level after experiencing a disturbance.
Studies also show that members of both sexes who are consistently subjected to distractions are more likely to suffer from reduced memory ability and are prone to developing mental health problems in old age. We live in an over communicated environment and it is essential that you are aware of the problems this causes before you commence working remotely. When working remotely you have to do everything possible to minimise the threat of being distracted.
Here are the essentials:
1, Get a routine, tell everyone about it and rigidly adhere to it!
Good examples are a fixed time of day when you look at or send electronic mail and make or take telephone calls. Before I began working remotely I used to get as many as 200 electronic mails over a period of twenty four hours. Now I think I am unfortunate if I receive greater than 5. To ‘restart’ my e-mail experience I altered my e-mail address and tenaciously took steps to shield the details being passed on to anyone. I then educated everybody who I gave my e-mail address to, to use it with special care. I also created an automatic response that swiftly informed anyone sending me mail my schedule for reading mail and if someone must have my immediate awareness to mark it as ‘Urgent’.
2. Get rid of alerts.
Disable every function that can send you a visual or audible alert. This includes cell and
conventional handsets and forms of alerts from e-mail such as display events, warning sounds, display changes to your inbox folder and of course facing a window. Get a door on your work place and put up a ‘do not disturb’ sign on it.
In ‘Remote Working Part 3 – Must have online tools’ I will reveal my favourite tools and software.
